DAY 1: Travel to Bwindi
The Mane Tours, Ltd driver/guide will meet you at your Kampala lodging for an 8-9 hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the southwestern part of the country. You will have a stopover at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time and take some photos. You will also stop for lunch in Mbarara then continue on, arriving in the evening.

DAY 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
You will have an early morning breakfast and then drive to the Bwindi Forest park headquarters. You will arrive for a 7:45 am briefing and then join the guide and other trackers. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the gorillas, which can take from 1-8 hours. Numerous animal trails give tourists access to the steeply forested landscape which is incredibly dense.

You will be amazed by the huge size of the silverback and the behavior and communication skills of these unique creatures, among other things. During your one hour stay, you will observe and learn from these magnificent creatures and then return to the headquarters.
After your gorilla trek, we will drive through a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ because of its unique cool weather despite being near the Equator. Lake Bunyonyi is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa (900 meters deep) (2,953 ft.) and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is snail fever free.

DAY 3: Kampala
After an early breakfast, you will end your stay in the “land of the mountain gorillas”. You will travel back to Kampala, with lunch on the way, to either your lodging or to the Entebbe International Airport (EBB).
